Why are we different?

We aim to provide you with the plants in just the right condition, at just the right time of year, to give you the best chance of growing great crops.

Quality Plants

All our plants arrive in individual pots/modules in which they were sown (no last minute transplants). Simply plant straight into their permanent growing position - the roots will penetrate the coir and grow into the soil, giving the plant a flying start with no root disturbance or damage.

Biodegradeable Pots/Modules

Our pots/modules are made from coir - a bi-product of the coconut processing industry. Its very light (saving on transport costs) and over the course of 1 or 2 seasons the coir rots into the soil, no pollution and no waste.

Peat-Free Compost

We only use peat-free organic based compost. The compost is made from heat-treated recycled plant material - it has excellent water/nutrient holding properties and of course does not deplete any peat bogs. Organic based nutrients are added to feed the seedlings over 4/6 weeks.

In Season

The planting/growing 'window' for all crops is limited. Seeds can be germinated all year round but that does not mean the plants will produce a decent crop. We only sell plants that have a reasonable chance of maturing - so most will only be available for limited periods each year. This way we can ensure that they arrive in good condition, at just the right time to give you the best yields.

Growing Greener

In our efforts to reduce the carbon footprint of our business and its products we are always looking at ways to cut down our energy use and pollution. We are currently in the process of converting our vehicles to run on bio-diesel made from recycled vegetable oils. If it proves practical we will also fuel are delivery vans this way too. Wherever possible our packaging materials will be recyclable too.

Its a continuing process and we are always on the lookout for new ideas...
