Helping the Environment

Not everyone can afford solar roof panels, new boilers or bio-diesel driven cars, but we can make a dent in the energy we use by growing some of our own food.
Every day huge volumes of fruit and vegetables are transported into and around the country. This consumes large amounts of fuel and creates massive air pollution.

Growing as much as possible where you live is a winner is many ways:

  • Shopping for less uses less fuel and produces less pollution.
  • Less lorry loads of food = less damage to your environment.
  • Gardening is a great way to get some gentle exercise.
  • Fresh food is so much healthier for you.
Come along to our meetings to find out more.
